My Son Dustin's Apple Ipod

This July 04.2013 I found the strength to get your  Apple Ipod out to see the almost 3000 songs you had downloaded.

On many occasions I've tried to listen to the songs and all you'd purchased because I know you had a love for music as I do that has been handed down from generations from my Mother and Father on to you and you loved to play music. Throwing down on the Double Bass Drums and Chello. Music is something I always encouraged you to do because as a little girl and through-out my life I've found so much healing in the power of music.

Teaching you that music is a universal language taught you that you had the ability to get along with anyone from all cultures and you absolutely appreciated learning and growing in those areas in life.

It always amazed me and our neighbors through-out the USA  just how loud we played our music. I think about that often- of just how loud we listened to it. The JVC you bought with the tiny speakers that put out what sounded like a full on concert. The times we rode around jamming to Cd's of our Family Friends in your Tahoe,SUV, Malibu, Pontiac Lemans, Benz and Dodge Truck rolling through the streets of Memphis and Denver was a memory I'll treasure forever. Remembering that big smile of yours.

It was awesome that you loved all genres of music and you can tell that by looking at all these songs you purchased from itunes. I know Rhythm and Blues was your favorite as you wrote on your Myspace that "R&B and the rest" was your favorite.

In 2006 you bought a little gadget to listen to your Ipod so Alex and I could hear the songs also. I thought that is was one of the coolest gadgets you had bought and considering we started out on Napster way back when, this was really sweet.

During the transition of moving and all that was going on with people in and out of your house I didn't have any idea what happened to that speaker deal that you used to listen to your Ipod.

I'd been thinking about getting your Ipod out of it's safe place put up and listening to the songs and other things you have on it and had the thing (Belkin) you used in your truck to listen to it but had no idea how it worked.

So, the other day, I was thrift store shopping and seen this gadget and had to get it and start to listen to those almost 3000 songs. A little touch of heaven from my sweet angel Son. I only gave $2.50 for it and the guy found an adapter for it and it works like magic.

It is apart of you. Apart of you that only a Mother could truly appreciate. It is those little things that mean so very much to me and are priceless.

With tears and happiness in my heart I feel very grateful to be able to finally have the courage to do this.

I Love You, Son.

-Your Mom

I'd give anything if he was here with me right now to share life with. Just really really miss my baby. I love you Dustin...Nobody can truly know just how much I long for you each and every moment of every second of everyday.

Happy 14th Birthday 2012 To My Baby Son Alexander Scott Nielsen

"Happy 14th 2012 Birthday To My Sweet Baby Son Alexander Scott Nielsen"

A Deeply heartfelt letter to my baby Son Alex.
I want to start out by saying that I have been truly gifted by two very special Men in my life. You and your brother, Dustin. The time, years and memories I was so fortunate  to have been gifted to me by the grace of our almighty God.

As you continue to grow into the Man you're growing into. I also continue to grow as your Mom. It is with great honor and I hold my position high in  regards to my two Sons.

When I was a little girl growing into the woman I am today. My dreams always entailed being a Mom and it has been my world for 27 years next month  on your brother Dustin's birthday.

For you two to have been 13 years apart and our culture, time and so much about life has advanced and with each day brings new beginnings, new life, new hope and we can and will always remain so very close to our memories in which we hold so dear to our hearts.

As your Mom, I really hope and pray that no matter how many miles or how much distance is between us we'll find a way to connect and always be right here for one another.

My heart longs for your hugs, for the warmth of your ever precious heart. The Respect that you have towards me, the people you love and all of mankind impresses me and shows me that you have such a wonderful genuine heart and soul.

I hope throughout your life, you find people who hold you with the utmost Respect as you deserve and You are your own person that I hold in very high regard. You remind me of your Brother Dustin. I hope you fulfill all your dreams as he did. Reach for that Courage and that Mentor that'll walk not behind you, nor in front of you but right beside you in all aspects of you growing into the young adult you are.

Always, Please know your Mom is here for you, always. You always remember that our Lord is always listening and is always there. Just seek and he'll be there for all of us.

Please always remember when things seem negative in situations. Just remember theres always forgiveness and we can learn and grow through trials and errors and we can always look towards the light and find the positive part of life and change that to our lifestyle for a healthier life and for the good of all others. Always be honest Always be kind. I know you do not have to be told this because you have a heart of gold and you'll do right by others as you wish they'd do right towards you. I feel your brother has and would tell you the same but I know you can feel his wishes for you in your heart. As that's how he meant it to be and I'm so thankful and grateful he spent so much time with you to teach you what he'd learned throughout his life.

There was so much joy in my heart to see you two enjoying your weekends together. Such great memories I'll always hold onto those days very dear as you twos Mom. You two spoiled me. I see in you things that reasonable your brother. I think often what he'd think about how much you've grown up and how I know he'd be letting you drive his sport's car or truck. I'd be a nervous wreck but as a Mom, that's just all apart of letting you grow up but sometimes it's the hardest part :)....Now, I know how my Parents felt...Mama and Daddy said I'd get paid back one day, so, that day has came. You and Dustin being 13 years difference is world's apart because it is a different world we live in. You just please Buckle up and pay attention. Promise me that :) Son.

Sometimes, in life we will not know all the answers and if we just put our faith and hope in the Good Lord. He will always guide us in the right direction. Just always believe.

May God Bless Baby Son.
I Love you

-Love Mom and Your Angel Brother Dustin

Happy 26th Birthday To My Son Dustin In Heaven

Lucy & Smiley Face Balloon

In Loving Memory
Of My Son...

I Love You

 Happy Birthday
Son

My Son Dustin In Heaven

Today is your 26th birthday and 26 years I've been a Mom.

Life here isn't the same without you. I long for your precious heart and so many wonderful things about you. You always had a way about you that was so loving towards me and anyone you ever met.

It is all that you were that keeps me going today. You were and will always be well respected by me and by so many. You never met anyone that you couldn't find good in and I'm so proud of you.

Today, marked your 26th birthday and your bestfriend (your dog)- Lucy and I set out to make this day good in celebration of the life you had with us and be grateful that God gave that time to us.

Earlier today, I spoke with a dear friend of mine, a lady that helped raise me from birth, she happened to just had her 83rd birthday just the other week. I thought of you the whole time speaking to her because you and I both love wisdom and love people no matter who they are. She lost her Daughter and also celebrates the life they had together. She reminded me that no matter where our children are, we'll always be the most loving Mothers by the grace of God.

I was also thinking today, about when you transferred to Denver with your job and you'd tell me about your friends telling the Restaurants it was your birthday every time you went out to eat so the staff would bring a cake and sing Happy Birthday to you and it wasn't your birthday. I laugh, because hearing you tell that story still makes my heart sing, and I told you live like everyday was your birthday. I'm sure that you had a lot of Happy times in your life and made the very best out of it.

I chose Monte Sano Mountains today to release your balloon because that's one of the places you loved and went to school. While I was there I also thought about how you loved the mountains no matter where you were from birth. From the mountains here in Madison County at Tater knob, Mountain Fork all over. Most of all you loved the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and called that your home here on earth.

Now, My Son, You're on the biggest Mountain of all looking down on us. Rest High On That Mountain.

I love you Son & Happy Birthday in Heaven.

-Mom

All My Heart To You & Yours & Ours this 9/11

My Son Dustin-New York
with The Gifted Program Field Trip

My Son Dustin working in Colorado 2001

On the 11th day of September in 2001 is a day in our history that none of us will ever forget. I think about my Son's Dustin and Alex and remember Dustin was within a few weeks of being 16 years old. Alex had just turned 3 years old.

Earlier in the year we had planned a field trip for Dustin and his Gifted class to go on. Unlike the other trips he'd been on across the country on a cruise. This was one to learn about our country here in the U.S.A.

I was very excited for him and his Gifted class- as I'd also got to go to some of the same places at 16 years old and experience everything that I'd only seen in pictures and in our Civic books.

It was very hard to let him go and I know it was for my Mama to let me go. I knew Dustin was going with some teachers and other guides. Still, I worried the whole time he was gone, he'd call and check in with me and tell me all about our history and everything he was seeing. It was amazing to him. He loved his country.

Dustin had already been working with the Desoto County Schools in Mississippi- with the computers and had really decided what he wanted for his career. He wanted to work in the computer industry.

After his Gifted Program trip in the summer of 2001, he transferred with his job to Colorado early that August 2001.

On September 11.2001- he called me and said "Mom, Are you alright" and with all the courage he and I both had we cried for everyone and he was reflecting on the trip he just had taken to all the places.

The love my Son Dustin had for our country and all the people is everlasting. The courage people are still showing is indescribable. I like others have pictures of my Sons trip and personal memories that are just that -personal.

May God Bless

Happy 13th Birthday My Son Alex :)

You and Your Brother Dustin in Colorado
 "Peace"
Huntsville, Alabama

My Dear sweet baby Son, Today you're now a teenager and you'd think this would be easy to write to you since your brother Dustin was 13 years old when you were born about to be 14years old on September 29. Your birthdays are almost a month apart. You were born in Southaven, Mississippi on August 26.1998 at 9:24pm (cst). You were born at Desoto Baptist Hospital by Dr. Dang weighing in at 7lbs. and 20 inches long. Down the road from Elvis Presley's house at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. It was a long day with much anticipation waiting for you to arrive. We were all looking forward to your arrival and your brother naturally took the big brother role in protecting you much like you now- with you being a big brother.

I'll never forget finding out I was carrying you- it was a Christmas surprise and I really did wonder what was in the water in Mississippi because everyone on the block was having a baby at that time :)

Soon, we found out your cousin, Parker would be born a month before you. So, when I tell you stories of you and he sitting on the tables at Country Buffet here in Huntsville in your infant seats it really seems like you were just a baby not long ago. I think it's neat that's where you want to have your Birthday Dinner, no matter what state in the US your in, theres always a Country Buffet. As I said, that's the Southern Guy in you, along with that Southern Gentleman kindness you've got going on.. although you have a mid-western accent you'll always have a little country in you :)

I'm so proud of you and happy for you this year being excited about all your classes and electives. I know you're a youngman now and growing up and even though you'll always be my baby I'm happy to see you reach for your dreams. No matter what most of all- I want you to be happy and know you're loved so much.

Hugs to you my Baby Son
Alexander
Love always,
-Mom
